autumn walks

In keeping with my five ways to keep a clearer mind post from a few weeks back, I joined the family dog walk on Monday, and what a brisk, autumnal walk it was- the weather has definitely taken a turn towards Winter territory! We took my dog, Hollie, to a local(ish) treasure that my parents had recently discovered, Leybourne Lakes, a beautiful country park with footpaths that follow and surround the six lakes.
Like my parents, I had no idea this beauty was here, there was even a pop up cafe, a children's adventure play area, a 'dummy fairy tree' where children can go to give up their dummies to the fairies, and we even saw a few dragonflies skimming the lakes. The weather was very autumnal too, with a lovely clear, blue sky that reflected incredibly off of the clear water- but the air was definitely fresh!
It took us around an hour to walk with the dog around the lakes, taking in the breathtaking views and the amazing pale blue houses that surround the lakes that are very American looking and definitely look like they could be part of a film set.
I thought I'd just share a few photos of our autumnal walk around the lakes so that anyone reading can see how beautiful Leybourne Lakes is, and also as a keepsake for my own memories. Let me know if you've recently found a hidden gem in your local area by commenting below or dropping me a tweet over on Twitter!- Enjoy!
